Okay, I have to admit that in my long absence from my pages here - where I feel I should be publishing fascinating articles, every blog entry The Great American Essay - I have been lurking around on Facebook, where I now have 28 friends, some of them distant relatives, others people I knew in high school. Facebook is fun, and social, and highly addictive. Since I've ventured into other reaches of the Internet, I also decided, for the heck of it, to put something up for sale on Etsy (for those unfamiliar with Etsy, it's an outlet for handmade items). So far all I have there is one item, an indigo-dyed, bird-shaped sachet stuffed with lavender, but I'm planning on putting more of my things - shirts and scarves - on Etsy. My address there is www.jennyher.etsy.com. I promise I will put more up there soon!

My son is somewhat horrified that I'm on Facebook, but I try to avoid looking at his Profile there, and he's glad that now I at least understand why he finds it so hard to tear himself away from the computer.  And now, I wonder if any of my friends have put up new Status reports, or better yet, if anyone is online who I'd like to chat with! Would any of you out there like to become a Facebook friend? Maybe I'll see you there...
