August 21, 2008

Dear Nancy, Carolyn, Lynne, Jane, Kylie, Laurie, and Sue,

You were my first class in teaching katazome, and what a group you were! All I had to do was to give some basic instruction, nudge you along a bit, and off you went. I was so pleased and inspired by all the work you did. I can't wait to get back to my own work again with the jumpstart you've given me.

Next time I do the class, I definitely think it should be five days, rather than 3.  I wouldn't plan to have any additional projects, but to allow more time for instruction, contemplation, and just enjoying the surroundings of Fletcher Farm School. Any other ideas? Please feel free to comment at the bottom of this blog (or privately in an email, if you prefer).

It was wonderful fun for me - I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. And here are some pictures - click the thumbnail below to view a larger size image, then press the back button to return here.

PS - I have to add a plug for Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts (www.fletcherfarm.org) , in Ludlow Vermont. What a peaceful, pleasant place to spend time surrounded by people practicing different arts. Great surroundings, great food, great company. A total retreat.
